Google Ads API version 14 has been released with a myriad of updates, including support for the shift from Universal Analytics to Google Analytics 4. This update presents an opportunity for advertisers to improve their user experience by enhancing both campaign management and performance. The new features in version 14 include account-level negative keywords, new recommendation types such as Dynamic Image Extension Opt-In Recommendation and Lower Target Roas and Raise Target Cpa Recommendation, new conversion action types to identify conversions from both GA4 and Universal Analytics properties, offline conversion client summaries to offer information about the offline conversion process, and Generate Forecast Keyword Metrics method to support keyword forecast metrics without creating a keyword plan first.
These changes are significant, and with the switch from Universal Analytics to GA4 happening on July 1, it is pivotal for advertisers to update to Google Ads API v14. This version also offers a keyword planning space, allowing users to forecast keywords without the need to create a keyword plan first. According to Mattia Tommasone, a Senior Developer Relations Engineer on the Google Ads API team, version 14 of Google Ads API offers multiple updates, changes, improvements and new ways to retrieve information from the system.
By updating to Google Ads API version 14, advertisers will benefit from more in-depth campaign management and exceptional performance. For a complete list of changes, it’s highly suggested to check out the full release notes.
