Google has recently opened access to its new Search Generative Experience (SGE), and Barry Schwartz is one of the first to gain access. Although he had to head offline for the holiday of Shavuot, he was able to share several tweets with images from his early testing. So, let’s take an early look at Google SGE.

It’s Barry’s turn to try Search Labs. This is the “you’re in” email Google sent.

Search [when does Shavous start?]
Google didn’t explicitly highlight the time, but it’s interesting to note that you can expand the answers for more details. There are also many organic/free links that one can explore.
Barry referred to the follow-up answers as “pretty good.”

For local search results, Google provides a 5-pack or 3-pack list.
Search [where can I learn about SEO]
Google presents a range of options for learning SEO.
Search: [who writes at Search Engine Land?]
Google provides clear, concise answers for who writes at Search Engine Land.
Google demonstrates how to tie shoes and change tires, among other how-to queries.
Your Money, Your Life Queries
Some queries have AI-generated answers, while others don’t, as Google stated would be the case.

Barry performs some vanity searches, and Google provides quick, accurate results.
Barry shares some tweets with GIFs of the SGE on mobile.
