According to a recent survey by Aspire, creators on YouTube earn more from brand partnerships than on Instagram and TikTok. The survey showed that 6% of YouTube creators make over $10,001 a month, compared to just 3% of Instagram creators and 2% of TikTok creators. In addition, 50% of YouTube creators earn more than $500 per month, while only 40% of Instagram creators and 36% of TikTok creators earn the same. Although it might be more expensive to work with YouTube creators, the high engagement rates on the platform make them worth the investment.
On average, YouTube creators have a 50% engagement rate, which beats Instagram and TikTok’s 2% and 3% engagement rates, respectively. Engagement is defined as views, likes, comments, and shares. This higher engagement rate is due in part to the longer video format, which allows creators to showcase products with step-by-step tutorials.
The survey is based on internal data from Aspire and a survey of 1,000 creators, most of them located in the United States, with varying audience sizes, main platform of choice, industry, and more.
Why is this important for SEO? Influencer marketing can significantly impact SEO campaigns. With the current popularity of influencer marketing, YouTube offers the most significant return on investment for brands looking to work with influencers.

Notably, many creators on TikTok are leaving the platform due to disappointingly low payment rates, with some claiming to be paid as little as $0.02 – $0.03 per 1,000 video views, which is leading to mental health issues and burnout.
